Cosmetic Surgery Centre – Plastic Surgeon Specialist Clinic
 This RN/RPN position requires a dynamic individual who is interested in, and who has experience working, within both clinical and the operating environment.  The candidate should possess experience in clinical and OR settings as well a strong interest and understanding of the Plastic Surgeries discipline.
Responsibilities
-The successful candidate will be responsible for primary patient care and healthcare services to patients of all ages with all types of conditions.
-The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the physician with Level 1 classification – minor surgical procedures (local anesthetic).
-Must be able to function both independently and in a small “team” environment
-The preparation of surgical equipment and aids the physician during treatment, examination, and follow-up with patients.
-Oversees appointment bookings and ensures a timely flow of patients.
-Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls, and instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
-Responsible for preparation of examining rooms and procedure rooms including: re-stocking of treatment areas; re-ordering of medical supplies; booking OR procedures.
-Maintains patient confidentiality and performs related work as required.
Qualifications
-A Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with a current license from the provincial college of nurses licensing authority.
-Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
-Knowledge of: examination; diagnostic; treatment room procedures; medications & their effects on patients; medical equipment and instruments; and common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
-Skills in maintaining medical records and writing reports.
-Knowledge, skills and experience in wound care and patient dressing.
-Candidates must be CPR certified.
-A minimum of 3 – 5 years of recent Medical/Surgical experience required (OR experience preferred).
-Strong multi-tasking skills, communication skills and human relations skills required.
-A mature, reliable individual with excellent attendance.
